Before parts can ship, the STC permission paperwork needs the aircraft owner's name, the model and the tail number. The order form asks for them.
This is the light-duty version of The Landing Gear Works titanium main gear, made for the Cessna 180. Like the heavy-duty set, it won't fatigue, rust or lose its spring the way steel legs do over the years.
Each leg weighs about 21 lb, against about 34 lb for Cessna's light-duty steel leg. That's up to 13 lb saved per side, low on the airframe where it counts.
The legs arrive as bare titanium and need no paint. If you'd like them to match the airplane, they can be painted, polished or powder coated.
The Landing Gear Works: titanium main gear, tail gear and big tailwheels at work on beaches, gravel and grass. 73 seconds, with sound.
“So far I am extremely pleased with the product. I absolutely love the weight savings: 34 lbs in total.”
“It feels lighter on the controls and has shorter ground rolls both take off and landings.”
“They could be a great cost savings, versus a failure of a 40-50 year old piece of steel.”
